Paul Cluver: Proprietor, Paul Cluver Wines
Paul Cluver Wines is a family owned and family run winery, focused on producing world class wines that reflect the uniqueness of the cool-climate Elgin terroir. The family is proud to have pioneered the Elgin appellation and for being a leader in sustainable farming. The first vineyards were planted in 1987, and in 1990 Paul Cluver Wines became the first wines bottled as wine of origin in Elgin. Paul Cluver planted a wide variety of grapes in the beginning, including varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Shiraz. Over time, the focus has become varietals they found they excel in: cool climate white varietals and Pinot Noir. Paul Cluver is proud to have pioneered Elgin as a premium wine growing region.
